Press Release: CORA Document Release, Dawn Comstock

PRODIGY CONSULTING GROUP, LLC RELEASES A SERIES OF EMAIL’S OBTAINED VIA AN OPEN RECORDS REQUEST FROM JEFFERSON COUNTY PUBLIC AFFAIRS CONTAINING DAMMING EMAIL’S FROM DAWN COMSTOCK TO THE JCPH BOARD AND JEFFCO ELECTED OFFICIALS BERATING THEM FOR DEFYING HER. FOLLOWED BY A STATEMENT FROM WESTON D. IMER REGARDING THESE EMAILS.

Prodigy Consulting Group, LLC has obtained the following emails through an open records request facilitated by the Jefferson County Public Affairs Office.

In this series of emails, you can see that Dawn Comstock berates county elected officials for questioning her authority as Director of JCPH and berates the officials for scrutinizing and holding JCPH accountable for the decisions and recommendations they make.

To best understand these emails, please read from the bottom up starting with the email from Treasurer DiTullio.

“After reading these emails dated November 22, 2021, I find it necessary that Dawn Comstock be terminated immediately in her position as Executive Director of JCPH. Ms. Comstock has no authority to make unilateral decisions for the county and has absolutely no authority or right to speak to Jefferson County Government officials in this way. It is the job of JCPH and the Executive Director to provide the data necessary to make these decisions regarding public health orders. It is also at the same time the job of the Jefferson County Commissioners to scrutinize this data and make sure that the decision-making process is sound. Dawn Comstock has blatantly overstepped her authority by speaking this way to her employers. Frankly, if this were any other workplace, she would have already been terminated. On behalf of the people of Jefferson County, I am demanding she resign or be terminated immediately for these inflammatory and disgraceful comments.”
